Yabuli can add several ski days to a Harbin winter holiday, but choose the ski area before comparing prices. This guide covers Sun Mountain, also called Sunshine or 陽光. Beginners should start with lessons, practice areas and transfers; independent skiers have different priorities, including lift coverage and three-mountain access.
For 2026–27, decide how many nights and lesson days you want, then add passes, rentals and instruction. Prices from another Yabuli operator are not Sunshine’s prices, and a package mentioning three mountains does not necessarily allow linked skiing every day.
Which Yabuli ski area are you booking?
“Yabuli Ski Resort” often means the wider destination, so passes, transfers and lift packages may come from different operators. Sunshine was also known as Windmill Village and Xinhao Sunshine; Club Med Yabuli is based here. Match the complete ski-area name with the entrance and collection point rather than relying on “Yabuli” alone.
| Name | What it means here | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Sun Mountain / Sunshine / 陽光 | The main subject of this guide and the ski base containing Club Med | Beginner area or lift-served slopes? Equipment included? Any linked-area entitlement? |
| Yawangsi / 雅旺斯 | A separate ski-area and hotel name within the destination | Exact name on the voucher, entrance, lessons and any night-skiing validity |
| Heilongjiang Yabuli Sports Training Base / Yabuli Ski Resort | Separate facilities with training, competition and recreational skiing functions | Which public slopes are included and whether training or events affect access |
| Three-mountain product | A specified inter-operator pass or accommodation benefit | Date, collection, lifts, connecting routes and return arrangements |
A tour offering “Xintiwei or Sunshine” means choosing one venue, not skiing both. Ask which entrance it uses before comparing transport, equipment and lessons, rather than discovering on arrival that it is a different ski area from the one you wanted.
2026–27 packages: room nights and ski-pass days are separate
When comparing Club Med Yabuli rates, ask which mountain areas the pass covers, how many days it is valid and whether collection is required on site. If linked-area skiing is listed as a stay benefit, confirm it against the selected rate; room nights do not automatically equal linked-skiing days.
Accommodation voucher dates and ski-area opening dates are separate. For an early-season, spring or particular-run visit, check resort operations before choosing non-refundable travel and accommodation.
For a learning-focused first visit, allow the arrival day for the journey, equipment fitting and lesson arrangements. Confident independent skiers can reserve a full day as a possible linked-area day. Avoid making your first three-mountain exploration the day you must catch a train: a changed connection or lift operation may complicate the return to your original base.
Sunshine terrain and who it suits
Sunshine’s overall terrain comprises 17 runs, 32 kilometres of trails and a 540-metre vertical drop, covering different abilities. Actual access depends on the day’s openings. Wider Yabuli and three-mountain totals are not Sunshine-only figures, and a large trail count is not a reason for a beginner to rush uphill on day one.
First-timers and families
For a first lesson, suitable equipment, clear communication with the instructor and enough recovery time are more useful than the number of mountains on a pass. Check which practice areas a beginner ticket covers, whether its conveyor lifts are included, and whether fitting, queuing or equipment return uses up the purchased time. Children’s ability, attention and comfort should guide the day. If adults and children attend different lessons, confirm meeting points and who is responsible for collection.
Skiers who can already link turns
Trail colours are local classifications. Being comfortable on a blue run elsewhere does not establish that every blue run here will feel the same. Use the first descent to assess the surface, visibility, intersections and route home before deciding whether to buy wider lift access. Groups with mixed abilities can meet for lunch at the base rather than asking a learner to keep up across the mountain.
Advanced skiers considering the wider area
Linked skiing involves Daguokui, Erguokui and Sanguokui and different operators; a Sunshine-only ticket does not automatically cover them all. Ask which lifts and connections your pass includes and when the last lifts run. Competition, training and closed areas remain off-limits. On a first linked-area day, leave time to return to the base and never cross a barrier because an old map shows a route.
Piste map: finding Club Med and the A/B sectors

Find Club Med, lift stations and the A/B-numbered runs on the map. Click it to enlarge, or open the full resort brochure. It is an undated reference, not this season’s daily opening map. On arrival, use the latest map and check which lifts your ticket covers.
Lift passes, rental and lessons: compare the complete cost
When asking for a quote, provide the date, group size, children’s ages, abilities and whether you want skis or snowboards. Compare passes, rentals, instruction and transfers separately to understand the difference between packages. Another ski area’s tariff or a spring promotion is not a reliable holiday-period budget.
| Cost component | Questions to settle |
|---|---|
| Ticket and lifts | Beginner area, Sunshine lift-served area or three mountains; hourly or daily validity; entry and last-lift times |
| Equipment | Skis, boots and poles, or snowboard and bindings; sizes; deposit; late return and damage terms |
| Clothing and accessories | Helmet, goggles and outerwear inclusions; whether to bring gloves and ski socks |
| Instruction | Private or group, duration, group size, language, children’s minimum ages, meeting point and cancellation rules |
| Transfers and extras | Exact station/hotel coverage, one-way or return, lockers, meals, insurance and optional charges |
The Klook half-day small-group option lists a three-hour beginner experience at either Xintiwei or Sunshine, with lessons charged separately and equipment collection and return inside the clock. Check the selected-date package; naming both areas does not mean admission to both.
Club Med packages still need an equipment check
Club Med ski and snowboard lessons have their own age and ability requirements. Confirm children’s ages, places, teaching language and grouping when reserving. Rentals depend on the selected package; “all-inclusive” does not automatically include equipment, clothing and private instruction.
If parents and children want to learn together, ask how lessons are grouped by age and ability. Switching from skis to a snowboard also requires checking both lesson availability and rental arrangements. Sharing footwear sizes in advance may simplify arrival, but equipment still needs an in-person fit and a staff check of the setup.
Getting from Harbin to Yabuli
Start by checking trains to Yabuli West
Start by comparing trains from Harbin or Harbin West to Yabuli West on China Railway 12306 for your date. Harbin and Harbin West are different stations, so include the journey from your accommodation rather than choosing only the shortest train ride.
If you arrive at Harbin Taiping Airport, rail time does not include baggage collection, the transfer to a city station, security or waiting for the train. Late-flight arrivals and groups carrying several equipment bags should compare a reserved direct transfer with a first night in Harbin. Treating a roughly one-hour train ride as the whole airport-to-slope journey will overstate the skiing time available that day.
Yabuli West, Yabuli South and Yabuli are different stations
The three stations have different pickup points. Give your driver the complete Chinese station name on the ticket, arrival time and exact hotel name. Travel time depends on the destination, winter roads and vehicle arrangements; sending only “Yabuli” invites confusion.
Public bus, hotel shuttle or private transfer?
Before relying on a station bus, confirm its last departure, stop location, equipment acceptance and return boarding point. For late arrivals, families with young children or several equipment bags, compare a reserved hotel transfer with a private vehicle and arrange the last leg before travelling.
Before reserving a hotel transfer, confirm whether your rate includes it, the exact airport or station served, one-way or return coverage and the booking deadline. Supply flight or train details and party size, and obtain the meeting point and contact details before departure.
Where to stay around the Sunshine base

These photos show a room and shared spaces; confirm your room category, programme and facility access against the selected rate.
Club Med is worth comparing when you prefer to organise accommodation, meals and graded lessons through one booking. Its location at Sunshine makes the area identification and map in this guide particularly useful. Check meals, lessons, lift-pass days, equipment and season-specific benefits separately. A promotion on the direct website cannot automatically be applied to every third-party room rate.
Compare Club Med Yabuli for the same dates and party, including meals, lessons, passes and rentals rather than just the nightly rate.
Yabuluoni Holiday Hotel beside the main lift

The Yabuluoni Holiday Hotel sits beside Sanguokui’s main lift, making it worth comparing for access to the slopes. That location is useful to investigate for independent skiers who want less travelling between accommodation and the base. Confirm that the relevant connecting run is open, where equipment is stored and whether your rate includes any ticket. Ski-in/ski-out describes access conditions; it does not mean all room rates include lifts.

Muyunlou mountaintop hotel for a different setting

Muyunlou sits at Sanguokui’s summit. Consider it if the mountain setting appeals, but settle baggage transport, latest arrival, arrangements during lift interruption, dinner and the following morning’s descent before reserving. These questions are especially important with small children, late arrivals or a preference for moving freely around the village.
Village and station-area accommodation can be worth comparing, but add the daily transport costs. A listing saying “within Yabuli resort” does not mean walking access to Sunshine. Ask which ticket hall the transfer serves, whether it is included and how the evening return works.
Two nights or three?
A practical two-night plan is arrival and equipment fitting on day one, a full skiing day on day two, then a short practice session or direct departure according to the return journey on day three. That secures one full ski day, but leaves limited flexibility if weather or equipment operations affect it. Three nights better suit consecutive lessons, a slower family pace or another possible day for linked-area skiing.
If Snow Town is also in the itinerary, avoid putting a first lesson, a long road journey and a train deadline on the same day. Independent adults and beginner children can follow separate plans with agreed meal and pickup times. For a separate Beijing stay, see our Beijing travel guide.

Yabuli Sun Mountain FAQ
Are Sunshine and Sun Mountain the same place?
Yes, Sun Mountain and Sunshine refer to the base containing Club Med Yabuli. Yabuli also has other ski areas, so not every ticket belongs to Sunshine.
Is Yawangsi another name for Sunshine?
No, they are different ski areas. A Yawangsi booking follows its own entrance and package, not Sunshine’s lift or lesson conditions.
Does accommodation validity establish the ski opening date?
Accommodation validity does not establish when skiing begins. Opening depends on snow and seasonal operations; check available runs and lessons before buying non-refundable early-season transport.
Does a Club Med stay include three-mountain skiing every day?
Do not calculate linked-skiing days from room nights. Confirm whether your selected rate includes it, the number of days, pass collection and extra-day arrangements. Available routes still depend on daily operations.
Is a three-hour beginner ticket enough for a first lesson?
Treat it as a short introduction rather than a promise to reach a particular skill level. If equipment collection and return are included in the clock, actual snow time is shorter. Check the lesson length and ticket timing before choosing a longer option.
Can I walk from Yabuli West station to Sunshine?
Plan a road transfer. Yabuli West is not a walk-out station beside Sunshine’s slopes. Confirm the station, exact destination and return pickup when reserving transport.
Are minimum ages the same for skiing and snowboarding?
Not necessarily. Skiing, snowboarding and different schools can use different age limits. Provide your child’s age and experience, and confirm eligible classes, places and operating dates.
Is the supplied official map the latest opening map?
No. It is a genuine official reference with no printed season label. Current opening, closure and ticket coverage must be checked against the latest information at the resort.
Check the final price, selected-date inclusions and change/cancellation conditions before purchasing.
