The first decision for a Jilin ski trip is whether to stay at Beidahu, Songhua Lake or in Jilin city. For consecutive ski days or children’s lessons, start by comparing hotels at your main resort. City accommodation makes more sense when you will ski only once or twice and also want urban dining and riverside time. This guide compares 10 genuine properties: five at Beidahu, two at Songhua Lake and three in the city, focusing on daily journeys, room layouts and holiday style.
For a 2026–27 ski trip, compare room rates alongside lift passes, rentals and transfers for the dates you can travel. A cheaper city hotel can still mean more time on the road each morning; a resort package may be better value if its inclusions suit everyone in your group.
Where to stay for skiing in Jilin: three separate bases
| Base | Best suited to | Main accommodation trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Beidahu Ski Resort | Consecutive ski days or lessons mainly at Beidahu | Prioritise the equipment-hall and return-to-hotel route; layouts, packages and ski-in/ski-out conditions differ by property |
| CTG Songhua Lake Resort | A Songhua Lake ski holiday with hotel facilities | Confirm the actual hotel, lesson meeting point and return after night skiing; generic Songhua Lake scenic-area accommodation can be elsewhere |
| Jilin city | More city time, a small number of ski days, or an arrival/departure night | Both resorts require separate road transport; add return fares and time before comparing a lower room rate |
Beidahu and Songhua Lake are separate resorts, with no shared accommodation area connected by ski runs. Arrange passes, lessons and hotel transfers separately unless your booked product explicitly includes both destinations. If you want both mountains, a split stay gives a clearer structure: treat the hotel-change day as a transfer day rather than combining checkout, cross-region travel, pass collection and the first lesson into one tight morning.
Songhua Lake now uses the CTG Songhua Lake Resort name, while searches may still show “Vanke Songhua Lake”. For skiing, look at the Qingshan Street resort hotels rather than confusing them with the lake’s scenic-area accommodation or central Jilin. “Near Songhua Lake” does not mean walking access to the slopes.
Before booking January 2027, check access during the Universiade
FISU lists the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade for 15–25 January and names both Songhua Lake and Beidahu in the Jilin mountain cluster. Check those dates, plus preparation periods around them, with the hotel and resort: which pistes will recreational visitors use, will lessons run, will the hotel accept ordinary guests, which entrance can vehicles reach, and will transfers change?
The competition calendar does not establish a whole-resort closure, nor does it guarantee normal access to every facility. If skiing is central to your trip, obtain confirmation for the exact stay before buying non-refundable rooms, flights or packages. Keep the cancellation deadline and the terms addressing resort operational changes. FISU event dates and the official 100-day venue introduction
Beidahu accommodation: five hotels for a resort-centred stay
The hotel photos include different room categories and shared spaces, rather than facilities all included with one booking. Check beds, kitchens and facility access for the room and plan you select.
1. Holiday Inn Jilin Beidahu

Compare Holiday Inn if reducing equipment carrying is a priority. It is inside Beidahu, with ski-in/ski-out access and two-bedroom suites alongside standard rooms. A restaurant and lobby lounge make it easier for families or friends to organise lessons, meals and breaks without finding a new place to eat each day.
The address is No. 24-12-10-117 within Beidahu Resort, rather than a Holiday Inn in central Jilin. The value of its ski access depends on open terrain and everyone’s ability. First-time skiers should ask how to reach the learning area and whether returning involves walking or a shuttle. Check lift passes, equipment rental and breakfast allocation separately. For a two-bedroom suite, verify actual beds and permitted occupancy; a photograph of a larger room does not describe the lowest-priced category.
2. Club Med Beidahu

Compare Club Med as a complete ski holiday, not just a nightly room rate. Its winter all-inclusive packages combine meals, passes and graded lessons, with equipment rental extra. The arrangement suits families wanting fewer dining and teaching decisions each day. Compare superior rooms, deluxe rooms and suites against occupancy and the benefits your group will actually use.
The resort is at Beidahu, which is your ski destination here. On a short two- or three-night break, confirm when passes become valid and how arrival and checkout days work rather than calculating ski days from room nights alone. Trip.com room listings do not necessarily include identical all-inclusive benefits. Compare meals, lesson language, children’s ages, rentals and transfers for the selected rate.
3. BDH Beimei Shiguang Resort Hotel / North America Time

Beimei Shiguang suits consecutive ski days when returning to the hotel conveniently matters. Its ski-in/ski-out positioning comes with room options ranging from doubles and twins to one- and two-bedroom living-room layouts. Separate sleeping space can be more useful to a group than a little extra floor area. BDH Beimei Shiguang Resort Hotel and North America Time refer to the same property.
The hotel is inside Beidahu Ski Resort in Beidahu Town. Its main advantage is using Beidahu as your home mountain; visits to another resort still need road transport. Ask the hotel to explain your building and floor, the equipment exit, available lifts and the return route. Beginners should separately establish the route to the lesson area. A living-room layout does not establish cooking permission, a usable sofa bed or included skiing and spa access; check the actual booking.
4. Hyakumangoku Onsen Hotel

Compare Hyakumangoku if bathing and spa time are part of the holiday. Doubles, twins, family rooms and deluxe family suites give families options beyond two separate bookings. Match the actual beds and occupancy, then compare the total with two standard rooms.
It is near Jiletang/Gokurakuyu in Beidahu, not a central Jilin hot-spring hotel. With children or heavy equipment, ask about the route to the rental hall and whether any section is outdoors. Bath admission is not necessarily unlimited with every rate: check children’s entry, clothing, food and paid treatments separately.
5. Shanhuju Hotel

Shanhuju has family and multi-bedroom options, including two- and three-bedroom suites and bunks in some layouts. These suit friends sharing or families needing separate bedrooms. You may also encounter the Xuehuju and Lehuju names, so ask which building and category the booking actually assigns.
Trip gives the address as Building 2, Winter Olympic Village, within Beidahu Resort. Confirm the building actually assigned, reception and the equipment hall before deciding whether the journey with children’s gear works for you. Confirm ski-in/ski-out access for the actual building and operating route on your dates, rather than relying on a skiing amenity tag. Multiple bedrooms do not guarantee multiple bathrooms; also check bunks, stairs, luggage space and suitable children’s beds.
Songhua Lake accommodation: two separate hotels at the resort
6. Lake Songhua Seibu Prince Hotel

Seibu Prince suits couples or families wanting a full resort stay alongside skiing. The hotel has a pool, children’s pool, gym and spa, with Chinese, Japanese and buffet dining. Rooms use wood-and-stone design references. These facilities give non-skiing companions more reasons to spend time at the hotel, although operating hours and access charges still need checking for your dates.
The address is No. 888 Qingshan Street, Fengman District, in the CTG Songhua Lake Resort ski base. It is not a generic lakeside hotel elsewhere in the Songhua Lake scenic area. Prince gives indicative drives of about 90 minutes from Longjia Airport and 40 minutes from Jilin station, excluding waiting and winter delays. Check mountain-view versus garden-view categories, children’s beds and pool rules. Ask separately about the route to lessons and lifts; a resort address does not guarantee ski-out access from every room.
7. Zhanyun SALOMON Hotel Songhua Lake Jilin

Zhanyun SALOMON is another Songhua Lake option, with an indoor pool, gym, restaurant and bar and a choice of doubles, twins and suites. It shares No.888 Qingshan Street with Seibu Prince, so match the full hotel name rather than relying only on the street address.
Qingshan Lodge is an older name for Zhanyun SALOMON, not another hotel to add to the shortlist. Ask about reception, equipment storage and the return after night skiing. A skiing amenity tag does not include a pass in the room rate. With a pet, check eligible rooms, size rules and permitted areas before reserving.
Jilin city accommodation: three bases for city time and occasional skiing
8. World Trade Winning Hotel

World Trade Winning works for travellers separating Jilin city sightseeing, river views and ski days. At No. 2 Jiangwan Road in Changyi District, it offers river-view room categories, an indoor pool, a gym and dining facilities. A city stay leaves non-skiing companions scope for a different daytime itinerary, particularly when only one or two days are allocated to the mountains. A river view is a room-category choice, not an entitlement of the lowest rate.
This is a Jilin city hotel; both Beidahu and Songhua Lake require separate road journeys. Arrange the return as well as the morning trip, rather than simply checking whether a taxi can be called. Specify ski-bag capacity, any evening waiting charge and the meeting point. For daily skiing, add transfer cost and travel time to the accommodation comparison. Travellers skiing on several consecutive days should usually investigate resort accommodation first.
9. Hampton by Hilton Jilin Jilin Street

Hampton on Jilin Street suits an arrival or departure night, or a city trip with only a few ski days. It is in the Fengman business district, with hot breakfast, a fitness centre, parking and nearby dining. Compare its queen-and-sofa-bed family suite against the cost of two standard rooms.
No.60 Jilin Street is not Qingshan Street at Songhua Lake Resort. Arrange transport for ski days rather than assuming city convenience includes a free resort shuttle. For a family stay, ask whether the sofa bed will be made up, how children’s breakfast is charged and whether breakfast opens before your mountain departure.
10. Ramada Hotel Jilin Purple Garden

Ramada Purple Garden provides another comparison point for a city-based itinerary. At No. 136 Zhongxing Street in Changyi District, it has a restaurant, café, gym, sauna and massage facilities. Its room selection includes family suites and executive suites with living space. For families or friends seeking a larger room, city meals and rest days, the layout may be more useful than a generic ski-hotel label.
Purple Garden corresponds to Ziguangyuan; Chinese listings may add “Wanda Plaza branch”. Match No.136 Zhongxing Street rather than mistaking it for a Wanda ski-resort hotel. It is not at the Beidahu or Songhua Lake base, so ski days need return transport. Ask about early breakfast and wet-equipment storage; a bathtub or sauna does not mean included treatments or a natural hot spring.
Plan the airport or railway transfer with the hotel
For flights, investigate Changchun Longjia International Airport. For rail travel, distinguish Jilin station from stations in Changchun. Jilin city and Jilin province are different geographic levels, and a hotel search result labelled “Jilin” does not establish proximity to Beidahu. If travelling with ski bags, give the transfer provider passenger numbers, luggage quantities and the longest bag dimensions, and confirm whether a larger vehicle is needed.
For its Songhua Lake hotel, Prince gives indicative drives of about 40 minutes from Jilin station and 90 minutes from Longjia Airport. For Beidahu, ask your own hotel or transfer provider for a quotation and plan matched to the actual station, flight and ski bags. The indicative drive times are not universal hotel journey times or scheduled-bus promises. Winter roads, waiting and intermediate stops can change the journey. Prince access information
Confirm both legs when arranging transport: pickup point, flight-delay waiting rules, any child-seat needs, weather-related changes and time to collect equipment after skiing. Use the actual 2026–27 shuttle timetable and reconfirm it before departure. A hotel’s taxi-booking service does not establish a free ski shuttle. On a flight day, leave a buffer for roads and airport formalities rather than connecting the final lift directly to a tight airport departure.
How to compare rooms and stay-and-ski packages fairly
Put the complete cost on one list: room and taxes, breakfast and other meals, return transport, passes for each guest, equipment, lessons and any spa or pool access you will actually use. A city hotel’s room-only rate and a resort package containing meals and lessons are different products. Even two rates at the same hotel may differ substantially in cancellation conditions, guest numbers or included ski days.
With children, distinguish free room sharing from free breakfast, passes, equipment and lessons. Two nights do not necessarily include three ski days. A pass may start the morning after arrival, and night skiing, helmets, clothing and lockers may be separate. For an apartment or suite shared by several people, establish bedrooms, bathrooms, bed dimensions, bunk restrictions and extra-bed permission before paying for the actual booking.
If your wider trip already includes Beijing, our published Beijing airport transfer guide and Beijing accommodation guide can help with that stopover’s arrival and overnight arrangements. Plan the Jilin airport, station and resort transfers separately.
Jilin ski accommodation FAQ
For a first ski trip, should I stay at Beidahu or Songhua Lake?
First choose a resort where you can confirm lessons and beginner-area arrangements, then select a hotel with a practical route to the lesson meeting point. For a first-time skier, ski-in/ski-out access may be less useful than a short walk or a confirmed shuttle. Equipment carrying, children’s rest time and lesson language often matter more than a hotel’s star category.
Can I ski directly between Beidahu and Songhua Lake?
No. The two resorts need road travel and do not share one accommodation base. For a two-resort itinerary, arrange hotels, transport, passes and instructors separately rather than using one resort’s package at the other.
Is staying in Jilin city always cheaper?
No. The city offers different room rates and dining choices, but ski days add return transport and travel time. For a family of four skiing daily, a higher resort room rate may buy easier rest breaks. With only one ski day and the rest of the trip in town, a city hotel may fit the itinerary better.
Which hotels should I compare for ski-in/ski-out access?
Start with Holiday Inn Jilin Beidahu and Beimei Shiguang, but connecting routes depend on daily opening and a beginner may not be able to ski back independently. For Shanhuju and other accommodation, check the actual building and exit. Ask about lesson meeting points and a return route that does not require skiing.
Will Beidahu and Songhua Lake close completely on 15–25 January 2027?
The Universiade dates alone do not justify that conclusion. FISU names both resorts in the mountain cluster, but the calendar does not specify recreational pistes, hotel inventory or transfer arrangements. Give your dates to the hotel and ski operator before booking, and choose cancellation terms you can accept.
Does a two-night resort stay include two or three ski days?
Not necessarily. Room-only stays, stay-and-ski bundles and Club Med all-inclusive packages use different rules. Check the number of passes, starting date, day versus night access, checkout-day benefits and whether equipment and lessons cost extra. Do not derive included ski days from the number of nights.
Are Seibu Prince and Zhanyun SALOMON the same hotel?
No. They are separate hotels, both using the resort address of No.888 Qingshan Street. Match the full hotel name, not just the address. Qingshan Lodge is an old name for Zhanyun SALOMON, not a third hotel.
Should I arrange the return transfer in advance?
It is sensible when staying in the city for ski days or catching a train or flight after checkout. Specify ski bags, children, luggage and the meeting point. Heavy snow, road conditions or event controls can affect departure plans. Without confirmation from the hotel or transport operator, do not treat an ordinary taxi-booking service as a guaranteed free shuttle.
