For a Christmas outing in Shenzhen, choose a district before choosing a display. UpperHills offers a Futian base for architecture, shops and a meal. MixC World suits an open-street date around Hi-tech Park. MixC Qianhai, MixC Shenzhen Bay, Uniwalk Qianhai and Haiya Mega Mall Baoan each make sense for different hotel locations and dining plans.
Any one of these six destinations can anchor an afternoon or evening. Travellers from Hong Kong should decide whether to return that night or stay before filling the plan with additional stops. A meal and time to browse in one district usually leave more room to enjoy the outing.
The Christmas 2026 programmes at these six malls still need new announcements. Trees, characters and snow scenes mentioned below are explicitly dated 2025 examples. Check each mall’s current announcement for the 2026 theme, dates, access, snow effects, reservations and charges.
Choose your Shenzhen mall by district and outing style
| Mall and area | Best fit | Metro approach | Plan around |
|---|---|---|---|
| UpperHills / Futian | Architecture, a family browse and dinner | Donggualing, Line 10 | Separate indoor time from the L3 town |
| MixC World / Hi-tech Park | An open-street date and coffee | Hi-tech Park, Line 1 | Mixing the high street with indoor stops |
| MixC Qianhai / Guiwan | A meal and photographs in one mall | Guiwan, Line 5 | Checking entry for a particular courtyard experience |
| MixC Shenzhen Bay / Houhai | A restaurant-led evening and plaza walk | Houhai; Lines 2 or 11 are useful options | The exact zone and restaurant floor |
| Uniwalk Qianhai / Baoan Center | Collectible-toy interests, shopping and a group meal | Baoan Center, Lines 1 or 5 | A different destination from MixC Qianhai |
| Haiya Mega Mall Baoan / Xinan | Shopping and a short main-square photo stop | Xinan Park, Line 12 | The Baoan branch and its actual entrance |
Six places for a Shenzhen Christmas outing
1. UpperHills: a Futian afternoon across indoor spaces and the town
Futian option; Christmas display reference is from 2025

UpperHills works for visitors who want photographs, shops and a meal at one destination. The L3 town and indoor atrium offer different settings, so choose a manageable outdoor stretch before taking a break inside. For a family, a named restaurant and floor make a much clearer meeting point than simply agreeing to meet at UpperHills.
The Christmas 2025 Fluffy Bear project used the L1 atrium and L3 town; the operator-submitted design record dates its launch to 27 November 2025. If a particular bear or scene is the attraction, check the next programme before visiting in 2026 rather than navigating by an old photograph.
- Getting there: use Donggualing station on Line 10 and follow the mall directions. Reaching the complex still leaves time for finding the right level and shop.
- Suggested pace: allow a flexible part of an afternoon, then eat. Families with strollers or older relatives should locate lifts and an indoor rest stop early.
- Spending and activities: dining, shopping and separately organised experiences have their own terms. Check registration or timed access if attending a specific session.
2. MixC World: high-street browsing and coffee around Hi-tech Park
Hi-tech Park option; Christmas display reference is from 2025

MixC World’s street-and-mall layout suits a group that likes browsing shopfronts and stopping for coffee. Outdoor gaps are part of the outing. In rain, shorten the high-street section and spend longer at the restaurant or indoor shops. Agree on a specific café or store if people want to browse separately.
For Christmas 2025, a book-themed installation occupied a high-street junction, giving photographs a streetscape setting. A 2026 visit can still be planned around the precinct and a meal, but that particular book display and brand collaboration belong to the previous edition.
- Getting there: Line 1 serves Hi-tech Park. Pin the actual restaurant or high-street entrance rather than another similarly named MixC property.
- Suggested pace: browse in the afternoon, keep a short outdoor section for dusk if desired, and eat in the same precinct. Adding Baoan after dinner is unnecessary.
- Reservations and cost: budget for your chosen meal and shopping. Pop-ups, exhibitions and interactive experiences may have separate registration or admission terms.
3. MixC Qianhai: a Guiwan meal with any courtyard experience checked first
Guiwan option; B2 snow-scene reference is from 2025

MixC Qianhai is useful if you are staying or already spending time around Guiwan. A meal, some shopping and one chosen photo stop can fill the outing without another district transfer. Use the full Chinese name 万象前海 in navigation and confirm the floor of the restaurant before meeting others.
The Shenzhen Daily Christmas 2025 report described a polar-style set in its B2 courtyard. That 2025 scene is a reference for the setting, not proof of a real-snow park or an available 2026 experience. Visiting the mall and gaining entry to a particular staged courtyard are separate questions.
- Getting there: plan from Guiwan station on Line 5 and follow the entrances open on the day. The word Qianhai alone is not a precise destination.
- Reservations: check current entry vouchers, timed slots, group size and child rules for any enclosed experience. No 2025 free-entry or walk-in arrangement is carried forward.
- Suggested pace: establish the session first, then choose the meal time. If it is unavailable, keep the shopping-and-dining plan instead of committing to a long wait.
4. MixC Shenzhen Bay: a Houhai dinner with a short plaza walk
Houhai option; Christmas display reference is from 2025

Choose MixC Shenzhen Bay when the restaurant is the centre of the evening and browsing can fit around it. The mall has different zones, so share the shop name, zone and floor with the group. This meal-led approach is easy to shorten for anyone who would rather sit down than spend the evening moving between displays.
Christmas 2025 featured tree and reindeer installations, recorded in the December 2025 Shenzhen Daily coverage. A separate 2025 light-art-season record lists the mall’s participating works. For 2026, use the mall as a district choice and match any desired installation to a new announcement.
- Getting there: Houhai is a useful station; Lines 2 and 11 are options. Choose the passage for your destination zone. Shenzhen Bay Port and Shenzhen Bay Park station are different places.
- Dining: ask about reservations, festive menus, deposits and table limits. If a particular view or outdoor table matters, confirm it with the restaurant.
- Suggested pace: keep one plaza and a meal in the same outing, then judge whether more walking appeals. A display photograph does not establish its current lighting hours.
5. Uniwalk Qianhai: collectible-toy interests and a meal at Baoan Center
Baoan Center option; POP MART Christmas collaboration was in 2025

Uniwalk Qianhai suits friends interested in toys, shops and a shared meal, or families who want one main destination. It is at Baoan Center, separate from MixC Qianhai around Guiwan. Keep the full name 前海壹方城 when booking a restaurant, calling a car or checking the metro route.
For Christmas 2025, POP MART character scenes occupied L1 Dragon Plaza and the B1 central plaza, as documented by Baoan Daily in November 2025. Character-photo fans can watch for the next theme, but should avoid promising children that the same 2025 characters will return. A shopping giveaway is also separate from access to a photographable display.
- Getting there: Lines 1 and 5 serve Baoan Center. Follow the mall directions and identify the return passage before browsing between floors.
- Suggested pace: choose the main interest first and fit a meal around it. If shopping is likely to produce several bags, avoid adding a long cross-district walk afterwards.
- Activities and cost: displays, loyalty gifts, paid photographs and purchases may each have different terms. A new 2026 collaboration would need its own access checks.
6. Haiya Mega Mall Baoan: Xinan shopping and a main-square photo stop
Xinan option; Christmas display reference is from 2025

Haiya Mega Mall Baoan works well if you are based around Xinan and want shopping, dinner and a short outdoor photo stop. The operator’s venue page places this branch at 99 Jianan 1st Road. It is separate from Haiya’s Nanshan and Zhongshan properties, so retain the city and Baoan branch in your map search.
The Shenzhen Daily Christmas 2025 report recorded a carousel-style tree and illuminated winged horse in the main square. That 2025 composition gives a sense of the previous fairytale styling. For a 2026 visit, plan the square before dinner if the weather suits, and check the new installation and lighting information separately.
- Getting there: Xinan Park station on Line 12 is a useful approach, followed by the walk to the actual Baoan mall entrance.
- Suggested pace: shop in the afternoon, take a short outdoor walk around dusk, then eat indoors. Keep the photo section shorter for children or tired companions.
- Facilities and spending: dining, play spaces and performances have their own access and charges. The carousel styling of the 2025 display does not establish a free ride in 2026.
Choose one district for the outing

A Futian afternoon
Visit UpperHills, dividing time between the town and indoor spaces according to the weather. Eat at the complex or nearby, then return to the hotel or your planned border connection.
A Nanshan date
Choose MixC World for open-street browsing and coffee, or MixC Shenzhen Bay for a restaurant-first evening. Each works on its own; being in Nanshan does not make the two malls an effortless after-dinner walk.
A Guiwan meal and browse
Make MixC Qianhai the main stop. Confirm any desired current experience before choosing the restaurant time. Without a particular session, leave room to browse and go straight back to your base afterwards.
A Baoan outing
Compare Uniwalk Qianhai if staying around Baoan Center, or Haiya if based near Xinan. Leave a two-mall visit for a day with spare transfer time rather than adding it just before a Hong Kong return.
Check the programme, meal and journey home separately
If snow effects, characters or a particular tree are the reason for travelling, match the year, dates, exact floor and session before checking reservation or payment requirements. Mall opening, display access and the final interactive session can have different schedules. Recheck outdoor arrangements in wet weather. The old timetables are not used as a 2026 itinerary here.
For a family outing, eat before a long photo queue and leave space for toilets, lifts and a rest. If some companions only want dinner, set a named meeting place instead of “by the Christmas tree”. Confirm restaurant deposits, cancellation terms and arrangements for children when booking.
For a Hong Kong day trip, start with the Hong Kong–Shenzhen transport guide and use the Shenzhen transport guide for the city journey. Check Shenzhen transport, the Immigration Department’s control-point hours and your final Hong Kong connection separately. Christmas does not imply New Year’s Eve service extensions.
If a later evening appeals, compare a same-area base in the Shenzhen hotel guide and check the actual journey, check-in conditions and cancellation policy. Set aside the meal and return-transport budget first, then decide how much to spend on shopping and optional experiences.
Shenzhen Christmas mall questions
- Which of these malls has confirmed Christmas trees or snow effects for 2026?
- Those specific Christmas 2026 programmes are not yet confirmed. The fixed-year 2025 examples help compare past styles. Check current mall announcements for dates, sessions, reservations and weather changes.
- Are MixC World, MixC Qianhai and MixC Shenzhen Bay the same place?
- No. MixC World is by Hi-tech Park, MixC Qianhai is around Guiwan and MixC Shenzhen Bay is at Houhai. Use the complete name for navigation and reservations.
- Is Uniwalk Qianhai beside MixC Qianhai?
- They are different destinations. Baoan Center is the useful station for Uniwalk Qianhai, while Guiwan serves MixC Qianhai. The shared word Qianhai should not be used to assume an easy walking link.
- Which option is best in rain?
- A booked indoor restaurant and nearby indoor shops make the easiest plan to adapt. MixC World’s high street, UpperHills’ town and the plazas include outdoor walking. A specific courtyard experience at MixC Qianhai still needs its own access and weather checks.
- Can I see all six in one evening and return to Hong Kong?
- That is not a sensible plan. Choose one main mall and a meal nearby, leaving time for the venue exit, Shenzhen transport, border procedures and the onward Hong Kong journey.
- Are mall Christmas activities always free?
- No universal rule applies. Displays, member activities, interactive experiences and restaurant packages may have different admission and booking conditions. A 2025 free-entry or reservation arrangement does not establish the terms in 2026.
