Where to stay in Yantai
Yantai has a long coastline, so start with three distinct areas: historic Zhifu, eastern Laishan and Golden Beach in the western development zone. Zhifu fits Yantai Mountain, Chaoyang Street, Suochengli and city meals. Laishan serves eastern-coast, exhibition and business plans. Golden Beach puts beach walks and hotel leisure first. These ten hotels span all three areas rather than one walkable district.
For a short stop, Yantai station, Binhai Square and the historic centre help group city outings. Several consecutive coastal days can justify moving west to Golden Beach. Penglai, Changdao and Yangma Island require different access plans and their hotels are outside this guide.
Yantai station and Yantai South are different arrival points, and ferry passengers need the actual terminal. Mark the areas you will visit most often before comparing pools, dining and fitness facilities. That is more useful than a sea-view filter alone.

The hotel shortlist
1. Pullman Yantai Center

Pullman Yantai Center is at No. 139 Shengli Road beside the Wanda shopping area. It fits Suochengli, central meals and city appointments, with an indoor pool, gym, spa and several restaurants supporting a return to the hotel after old-city outings.
The appeal is high-rise city accommodation and shopping convenience rather than a beach-resort compound. Group Chaoyang Street, Yantai Mountain and Binhai Square into sensible outings. Consecutive Golden Beach days call for a comparison with the western development-zone hotels.
2. Lijing Coast Hotel Yantai

Lijing Coast Hotel is at No. 86 West Street, useful for Yantai railway-station arrivals, a short city stop and the Joy City shopping area. A restaurant, cafe and luggage storage provide practical facilities before heading out to the older centre or coast.
The Coast name should not replace the actual urban address. Ferry arrivals also need the precise passenger terminal: proximity to the railway station does not mean every port arrival is on the same side or walkable to the hotel.
3. Crowne Plaza Yantai Sea View by IHG

Crowne Plaza Yantai Sea View is at No. 299 Gangcheng East Street. It serves the international expo centre, Laishan business and eastern-city plans, with an indoor pool, gym and sauna providing leisure facilities after the day’s events.
Yantai Mountain and Chaoyang Street in Zhifu are not part of the same walking neighbourhood. This side makes sense when Laishan drives the visit. Repeated meals and walks in the historic centre favour a comparison with Binhai Square or Suochengli hotels.
4. Huanghai Hotel

Huanghai Hotel is at No. 7 Binhai Middle Road near the Zhifu–Laishan boundary. Chinese courtyard architecture and a coastal setting combine with an indoor pool, tea room and restaurant, rewarding time spent at the property between Haiyun Square, Second Bathing Beach and Fisherman’s Wharf outings.
This is separate from the western Golden Beach resort area. Route to the actual wharf or beach entrance rather than using coastline distance alone. Vehicle drop-off and the road approach particularly matter with a stroller or older companions.
5. Yantai Railway Station Binhai Plaza Manxin Hotel

Manxin is at C31-2, No. 14 Chaoyang Street, a fit for historic streets, coffee stops and waterfront walks. A gym, bar, tea room, restaurant and cafe extend the neighbourhood’s leisure rhythm into the stay.
Yantai Railway Station appears in the name, but the entrance is on Chaoyang Street. Establish where a vehicle can stop before handling the final luggage approach. For separate early and evening visits around Yantai Mountain and the coast, the street setting can matter more than resort facilities.
6. Hilton Yantai

Hilton Yantai is at No. 53 Dama Road, serving Binhai Square, Changyu Wine Culture Museum and Zhifu’s coast. High-rise views, an indoor pool, gym and bar combine city sightseeing with time inside a larger hotel.
There is also a Hilton on the Golden Coast side of Yantai. This selection is specifically No. 53 Dama Road. For Chaoyang Street, Yantai Mountain and older-city plans, compare this Zhifu address separately from the western beach resorts.
7. Marriott Yantai

Yantai Marriott is at No. 365 Huanghe Road in the development zone. It suits a trip built around Golden Beach and coastal downtime, with an indoor pool, gym, spa and several restaurants supporting an unhurried day on the western side.
It is not beside Yantai Mountain or Chaoyang Street. Combine historic-centre sightseeing into a planned excursion if desired. Repeated morning and evening visits to Zhifu can outweigh the appeal of a beach-oriented hotel once the cross-city travel is considered.
8. Hotel Indigo Yantai Golden Coast

Hotel Indigo Yantai Golden Coast is at No. 26 Haibin Road facing the beach. Maritime culture and local craft elements shape the design, while an indoor pool, gym, bar, restaurants and cafe give the hotel its own role in the trip.
The strongest fit is slowing down on the western coast rather than using it as a daily transit point for the old city. Beach activities depend on season and weather, but walks, coffee and the hotel’s design can fill an enjoyable afternoon without going into the water.
9. Brigh Radiance Hotel

Brigh Radiance is at No. 3-1-2 Dama Road, serving Binhai Square and the Zhifu coast. An indoor pool, gym, spa, several restaurants and cafe combine coastal walks with dining at the hotel, useful for visitors who want seaside atmosphere while retaining an older-city base.
Split the nearby coast into shorter morning and evening walks, adding Yantai Mountain or Suochengli as separate outings. This is an urban-coast experience, unlike the western Golden Beach properties that better support several days around the beach and hotel.
10. Sheraton Yantai Golden Beach Resort

Sheraton Yantai Golden Beach Resort is at No. 88 Haibin Road. An indoor pool, gym, sauna, spa and tennis facilities make it relevant for a holiday focused on the western coastline. Compare its sports and leisure setup with Marriott and Indigo rather than treating all three as identical beach stays.
The properties have different addresses and coastal starting points despite sharing the Golden Beach direction. Mark the beach section or activity you want first. Yantai Mountain, Chaoyang Street and Suochengli are cross-city outings, not casual after-dinner walks from here.
Frequently asked questions
Which area should a first-time visitor compare?
Start with Zhifu for Yantai Mountain, Chaoyang Street and Suochengli; Laishan for exhibitions; western Golden Beach for consecutive beach days.
Can I walk from Golden Beach hotels to the historic centre each day?
Do not plan the trip that way. The western development zone and historic Zhifu are separate activity areas requiring transport.
Are Yantai and Yantai South station transfers the same?
No. Use the full name on your ticket. Railway-station branches in this list refer to the Yantai station side, not Yantai South.
Is Manxin at the station exit?
Its address is C31-2, No. 14 Chaoyang Street. Choose it for the older streets and Yantai Mountain side rather than assuming an exit location from the branch name.
Is Hilton Yantai the Golden Coast Hilton?
No. This guide includes Hilton Yantai at No. 53 Dama Road. Keep the full name and address when booking.
Which properties list indoor pools?
Pullman, Crowne Plaza, Huanghai, Hilton, Marriott, Indigo, Brigh Radiance and Sheraton list indoor pools. Check operating hours and child-use rules for the visit.
Which coastal area does Huanghai suit?
No. 7 Binhai Middle Road serves the Second Bathing Beach and Fisherman’s Wharf side, separate from western Golden Beach.
Where should exhibition visitors start?
Crowne Plaza on Gangcheng East Street in Laishan is a useful comparison for expo-centre and eastern-city routes.
Can ferry arrivals use railway-station directions?
First identify the actual passenger terminal. Different ferry arrivals cannot all be treated as Yantai railway-station arrivals.
Does Golden Beach work in winter?
Plan around coastal walks, dining and indoor facilities, without assuming summer water activities or outdoor amenities operate year-round.
Making the final choice
Compare Lijing Coast, Manxin and Pullman for shorter urban stays, and Hilton or Brigh Radiance for the Binhai Square and Dama Road side. Huanghai and Crowne Plaza serve different Laishan coastal and exhibition plans. Marriott, Indigo and Sheraton suit consecutive Golden Beach days, with separate transport planning for Zhifu’s historic centre.
