THE SOUTHSIDE’s Dazzling Christmas in 2025 suited an evening combining indoor decorations, a short outdoor show and dinner in Wong Chuk Hang. Its approximately 10-metre atrium tree and 8-metre outdoor animated tree offered different experiences. They were not two names for the same installation.

The historical display continued until 4 January 2026, but lights, snowfall, Santa and singer appearances followed separate calendars. This guide reviews the completed 2025–2026 programme. As of 22 October 2026, full new-season details are still to come.

Two large trees and a smaller tree inside a globe

    Historical scene Location Distinctive feature
Approximately 10-metre starlit tree LG Atrium Nearly 6,000 decorations, including white-gold baubles, with a stage and seven themed settings below
Interactive crystal ball Beside the main atrium tree A rotating golden tree inside, with changing lights as visitors approached
8-metre animated tree LG Piazza LED Santa and snowman scenes and scheduled lighting performances
Glasses-free 3D animation Mall screen Santa arriving in a red sports car, distinct from the live meet-and-greet

The main tree focused on traditional decoration, while the outdoor tree used animated scenes. Visitors interested in traditional festive decoration could prioritise the atrium; those seeking a moving spectacle needed to time their Piazza visit separately.

The atrium was a festive stage, not just a tree

Seven themed settings beneath the main tree included golden balloons, sequins, a palace-style sofa, festive wording and floral lettering. They allowed visitors to step into individual scenes rather than only photograph the entire tree from a distance.

A rotating golden tree sat inside the neighbouring crystal ball. This was a separate, smaller tree feature. It does not mean the approximately 10-metre main tree rotated.

The atrium also became a performance venue. Someone primarily interested in the scenery could avoid the listed stage events, while a visitor attending for a singer needed the indoor atrium rather than a position beside the outdoor tree.

The light and snow shows shared times, not dates

Published historical programme Dates Sessions and place
Christmas Light Spectacular 20 November 2025–4 January 2026 Daily at 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00 and 21:00; approximately three minutes; LG Piazza
    Romantic Snowfall Show 22, 23, 29 and 30 November; 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21 and 24–28 December 2025 The same five hourly starts; approximately three minutes; LG Piazza

The two activities had separate calendars. The light-show season continued to 4 January, whereas the last listed snow date was 28 December. January weekends should not be added simply because the trees remained on display.

Three minutes made these useful short additions to an evening, not continuous entertainment between hourly starts. For a particular session, it was more efficient to locate the Piazza first and visit the indoor tree afterwards than finish dinner just after the desired show had ended.

These are published historical schedules, not proof that every announced session operated unchanged. Outdoor effects remained subject to weather and on-site arrangements. Short artificial-snow presentations were not a snow-play park.

Santa and singers required a different plan

Santa sessions were listed for 20–21 December 2025 from 17:00–19:00, and 24–26 December from 14:00–16:00 and 17:00–19:00. The past atrium event was free and first-come, first-served.

Free entry did not eliminate the queue or guarantee a photograph for someone arriving just before the session ended. Families could prioritise Santa and treat a later outdoor light show as flexible, rather than attempting a queue, an outdoor performance and a dinner booking at the same time.

The Dazzling Christmas Gala featured Mischa Ip on 20 December and Ivana Wong on 25 December 2025, both from 18:00–19:00 in the LG Atrium. School and music-group choirs also formed part of the broader programme, but the two singer slots should not be applied as a daily timetable for every choir.

The historical programme also included a stilt-walking Christmas-tree parade: moving tree-shaped performers rather than the two fixed large trees. This was a selected-date activity, and the hourly snowfall schedule should not be reused as its parade timetable.

Viewing, meeting Santa and shopping were different activities

The past Santa event was free and first-come, first-served. That does not make every store experience, restaurant or shopping reward free. Nor should an unrelated membership or spending threshold be imported into the Santa arrangement.

Without a character or concert commitment, the evening could remain simple: the atrium tree, the interactive globe, one outdoor session and dinner. Visitors specifically seeking Santa or a singer needed to choose the relevant date first. “Displays until 4 January” was not a substitute for their individual calendars.

Wong Chuk Hang Exit B, then distinguish the two LG venues

The THE SOUTHSIDE arrival directions confirm 11 Heung Yip Road, Wong Chuk Hang, and MTR Wong Chuk Hang Station Exit B. Inside the development, follow signs for the LG Atrium or LG Piazza. Both used the LG designation, but one was indoors and the other outdoors.

For a taxi, use the Heung Yip Road LG entrance set-down point. Share the full address with the driver and specify atrium or Piazza when meeting companions. “Beside the Christmas tree” was ambiguous when there were two major trees.

For an existing Island South day out, this was a practical dinner-and-lights finish. Travelling across Hong Kong solely for a three-minute show involved a different trade-off. Compare other areas in the Hong Kong Christmas guide before making the journey the largest part of the evening.

    Choosing a complementary outing

For shopping-led festivities, the Hong Kong Christmas markets guide offers a different type of programme; THE SOUTHSIDE’s tree display was not itself a large market. For harbour scenery and a longer outdoor walk, compare Hong Kong WinterFest. The Hong Kong hotel guide can help anchor the return journey without adding unnecessary cross-city stops.

    Frequently asked questions

Were the 10-metre and 8-metre trees the same object?

No. The main tree stood in the LG Atrium; the animated outdoor tree was in the LG Piazza.

Did a nightly light show mean nightly snow?

No. The historical lights ran daily, while snowfall had a selected-date calendar.

    How long were the shows?

The published light and snow sessions were approximately three minutes each, excluding waiting or finding a position.

Was shopping required to meet Santa?

The past sessions were free and first-come, first-served, not a spending-based redemption.

Are these designs confirmed for Christmas 2026?

New-season details are still to come. These installations and schedules belong to the 2025–2026 edition.
